The entire app is framed as a magical castle. Inside that castle lives a wizard-like character named Milo. Milo is not a mascot or a loading screen decoration. He is the emotional and interactive core of the product. The castle is the UI. Milo moves through it, reacts to what he is doing, and makes the AI feel physically present inside a real space.When Milo is idle, he should feel alive wandering, existing, ambient. When he is working on a task, he should visibly be doing something. When he is organizing memory or cleaning up archives, he should look like he is sorting scrolls, throwing away clutter, or magically arranging artifacts. When the user earns a milestone, Milo physically places a trophy somewhere in the castle. The castle accumulates these objects over time and becomes a persistent visual record of the user's history with the app.The rooms of the castle map to different functional domains. A main hall for general conversation and interaction. Archive rooms for memory, files, and cleanup. Trophy spaces for milestones and achievements. Other themed areas for different kinds of work. Milo moving between rooms gives visual meaning to whatever he is currently doing. The world itself is the interface not flat menus with a mascot layered on top.The User ExperienceA user installs xMilo, creates an account, and sets a local display name. Milo learns that name and uses it. The onboarding is not a dump into a raw chat window. It is a guided setup that walks the user through identity, permissions, and environment awareness.After initial setup, the user can optionally trigger a system examination or self-discovery flow. In this flow, Milo inspects the device, reports what he has access to, what works, what does not work, and what categories of abilities are available on this specific phone. This is not a blocking wizard it is more like an onboarding ritual combined with a capability map. If the user completes it, Milo celebrates and places a trophy in the castle to mark the moment.The app is meant to make setup and progress feel like part of a living world, not a dry configuration screen.

What Milo Actually Does

Underneath the fantasy presentation, xMilo is a serious system-capable personal assistant. It is not limited to answering questions in a chat box. The intended behavior is closer to an on-device agent that can:
Observe device state (Wi-Fi vs. cellular, battery level, etc.)
Understand context from the user's environmentInteract with apps, files, notifications, and services where platform permissions allowInspect accessible files and images and reason over them
Help manage digital clutter and organize archives
Recall memories and important context from past interactions
Report clearly on what it can and cannot do on the current device
Milo is supposed to be honest about limitations and permissions. He does not pretend to have powers he does not actually have. If something is missing or broken, he explains it plainly and guides the fix.

Persistence and Memory

xMilo is built around continuity. Milo remembers who the user is, what they care about, what they do often, and what matters to them. He should not reset emotionally or behaviorally between sessions. The user should feel like they are returning to the same being and the same place every time they open the app.The system accumulates memories, preferences, archives, trophies, and learned context over time. The castle reflects this history visually. The relationship between user and Milo is supposed to grow — not stay static.

Architecture (Conceptual, Not Technical)xMilo is not a single monolith. It is a multi-part system:

‍The mobile app is the castle UI and the primary interaction layer. This is what the user sees and touches.
‍A local device-side sidecar/service is the system-facing layer. It handles local actions, device inspection, file access patterns, state checks, and other capabilities that require proximity to the device environment.
‍A relay/backend handles cloud-facing coordination — account management, email verification, entitlement state, access control, and communication with AI model providers where needed.

The design is meant to be provider-agnostic over time, even if a single AI provider is used first. The relay is the coordination layer, not the identity of the product.


Milo's Identity and Tone

Milo has a defined persona. He is loyal, personal, persistent, and emotionally legible. He is not childish or useless. He can speak, chat, guide, celebrate, report problems, and react to the user's world in a way that feels consistent across time. The user should feel like Milo knows them and shares a lived environment with them.Idle behavior matters. When nothing is actively happening, Milo should feel present ambient animations, occasional movement between rooms, optional voice lines if speech is enabled, posture changes based on state. This idle aliveness should never interfere with active work.


Extensibility

xMilo is designed to grow. A user may eventually be able to supply skill packs, repositories, or capability modules. The system is meant to evaluate what a capability package does, whether it is safe and realistic to support, and what integrating it would mean. Milo does not blindly install anything he considers and reports on what is being added.
